In my life, December has always been the coldest month. It has taken and given so much, it has broken me down and built me up. December is my personal symbol of adversity and opportunity - of life's toughest questions and seemingly impossible answers. But December never lasts. It cycles in and back out again, and in the time between we make sense of the noise. After December, we scrape together the rubble and march ever onward.
"Awareness is the key. Do we see the stories that we're telling ourselves and question their validity? When we are distracted by strong emotion, do we remember that it is our path? Can we feel the emotion and breathe it into our hearts for ourselves and everyone else?" ~Pema Chodron
About December
This blog was once called Faiths and Illusions, a reference to the famous Carl Sandburg poem "The People, Yes." It was about the struggle and the question of survival. F&I was a journey, it had it uses, and when the time came it ended. But the journey never really ends, it just evolves.
